You just selected the Webspec Design team to manage your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) campaign. Yay! We can’t wait to work with you! But as an SEO client, where do you go from here? What decisions do you need to make? What exactly can you expect from the SEO team at Webspec?
Define Clear Objectives
One of the first and most important things to do when starting your SEO campaign is to outline 1 – 3 business goals. Think about your target audience. What do you want them to know about you? Where are they located? What products or services do they seek that you provide? Of these products and services, which are the most profitable? In what ways do you provide these products and services better than your competitors do?
Once these questions are answered, think about how you define a successful SEO campaign. Does successful SEO result in more traffic to your website? Lead generation? More sales? Increased foot traffic to your store? Trust me, in the world of SEO there is no such thing as too much information — and there’s no one “right” answer to this question! The more we understand about your users, your business and your objectives, the easier it is for us to ensure you see a greater return on investment from your SEO campaign.
Keep Communication Lines Open
Communication and transparency are key to an SEO campaign. When you partner with Webspec for SEO services, here’s what you can expect from us:
- weekly progress updates
- monthly in-person (or phone call) meetings
- quarterly in-depth Google Analytics reports
- ongoing research for the most current industry news and SEO best practices
The SEO industry changes rapidly, so to keep up with any changes your company may experience over time, we like to meet with our clients once a month to make sure our SEO strategy continues to align with your business objectives. We also understand that business owners have a lot to keep track of, so if monthly meetings are too frequent for your schedule, we can set up meetings once a quarter.
While you have hired us to manage your campaign, SEO is far from a set-it-and-forget-it kind of deal. Content changes, blog articles, social media posts and listing directory verification may require your approval. When these situations arise, our team appreciates timely feedback so we can continue to provide you service that brings you the most value.
Set Realistic Expectations
Be wary of SEO companies that claim they can get your site ranking #1 in Google in a short amount of time — or at all. These promises usually include quick, black hat tactics that will have an adverse effect on your site. Our SEO professionals have several years of experience and know that we cannot make any guarantees for ranking placements. Google can (and does) release algorithm updates that tank or spike site rankings literally overnight. Furthermore, if you are seeking out SEO services, chances are that your competitors are too. So remember that SEO takes time to do well and depends not only on search engine algorithms but also how your competitors’ sites are optimized.
When we launch a new SEO campaign, we ask that you give us a three-month commitment. Three months is the amount of time we found where we can really start to show significant results for our clients. We can’t guarantee a number-one ranking, but we are confident you’ll see your site progress in the search engine result pages.
If SEO were quick and easy, everyone would be doing it. But if you want to place your site into the hands of trained, award-winning SEO professionals, Webspec Design has you covered.
