Guess What…We’re Growing!
It’s been hard to keep it a secret, but after a lot of planning we have some exciting news to announce; Webspec recently acquired EDJE Web Design, another local web design and print firm who focuses on providing their expertise to the agriculture and livestock industries. We’ve had some periods of growth and change in the past but this is by far our biggest undertaking when it comes to growing the business, and we’re excited to bring the two companies together and learn from each other. With all this change, I wanted to take a look back at where we started and how we got here.
A Look Back
This fall Webspec Design will be celebrating its 16th anniversary, with 11 of those years in Urbandale. In the fall of 2006, my oldest daughter Julia was just a few weeks old and I signed the lease for Webspec Design’s first official office space. I needed to hire an employee and my wife didn’t want us working out of the basement while she tried to care for a newborn.
My family has grown quite a bit since September of 2006. My oldest daughter just celebrated her 11th birthday, we’ve added three other kiddos to our family (they’re now 9, 6, & 6) and Checkers the cat and Moose the dog have joined us too.
Webspec Design has grown quite a bit during this time as well. Our team has expanded to an incredible team of more than 30 highly talented professionals. We’ve also grown in our capabilities. We started out offering basic websites with 3-5 pages. Webspec Design now has an industry-leading team of designers, web & software developers, content writers, SEO strategists, project managers, social media strategists and marketing staff ready to help businesses of all sizes accomplish their goals.
An Unexpected Opportunity
One of the best parts of my role over the last decade is networking and developing relationships with people. Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to meet Ed Tlach, founder of EDJE Web Design. EDJE has nearly 20 years of experience helping businesses with web design and development. Over the course of the last decade, I have run into several of EDJE’s web design clients. I have always been impressed with how highly these clients speak of the excellent customer service and individual attention they receive at EDJE.
I am excited to announce that as of this month, Webspec Design has acquired EDJE Web Design. While EDJE has completed over 3,500 projects in a wide variety of industries, they have specialized in working with small businesses and companies in the agricultural industry. EDJE will become the Agricultural/Small Business division of Webspec Design.
What Does This Mean For Our Clients?
EDJE clients will now have access to the full range of Webspec services including our award winning SEO services, traditional media buying, copywriting, and social media marketing.
Webspec Design’s clients will now have access to app development as well as expanded options for print and design.
Webspec Design Welcomes the EDJE Team
Now that we have finalized the details, we will work to bring EDJE’s web design and development team into the Webspec family. This is a group of highly skilled people who are passionate about providing their clients with excellent service while helping them reach their digital marketing goals. We have enjoyed getting to know the EDJE team and are so excited to welcome them to the crew. We’re looking forward to working together, making each other stronger, and providing the very best handcrafted design, development, and marketing the Midwest has to offer.
While we’re excited about diving further into the agricultural industry, we’re still equally excited to help businesses in all markets. Give us a call to discuss your goals.
